6 IDEAS FOR WEARING A SUIT WITHOUT A TIE

While we all know that a suit and tie go hand in hand, you may also look smart by keeping the suit but removing the tie.

There are certain style guidelines to follow for those who aren’t great fans of ties but nonetheless want to seem spiffy.

You’re undoubtedly thinking how to get the look with ease and style. That is why we have come.

In today’s piece, you’ll learn how to look excellent in a suit without a tie.

A CAMP COLLAR IS A GOOD IDEA

Prior to the arrival of rock ‘n’ roll, mid-century fashion was known for being conventional and buttoned up. That’s a touch harsh, given the camp collar shirt came in the 1950s to freshen up stodgy tailoring. The style is still relevant today.

Go mild on the tailoring for a little bolder, Gosling-approved look — beige or stone is a fantastic neutral to match with a brighter patterned shirt. When it comes to patterns, vertical stripes, chevrons, and trippy interlocking forms are all good choices. If it makes you nervous and gives you migraines, go for a monochromatic shirt for some easy Riviera style points.

APPLY AN AIR-TIE

To button your shirt all the way up but leave the tie in the drawer, you don’t have to be Bradley Wiggins. In fact, dressing a buttoned-up shirt without a tie is a certain way to get to the head of the clothing pack.

This style is best worn with sleek tailoring and a little cropped leg, since it is a tribute to mod design. Swap up your leather Oxfords or Derbys for something more relaxed and informal, like loafers, desert boots, or sneakers, to go full Johnny Marr.

While this is an attractive attire, it is not one to wear to the workplace if you work in the corporate sector. On the other hand, knock yourself out during parties, weddings, and dating evenings.

Any occasion or outing where business casual dress is acceptable will allow you to wear the suit without a tie. Conferences, seminars, dating, attending a wedding as a guest, and even going to work (as long as business casual is accepted)

SUBSTITUTE SOMETHING SIMILAR FOR THE SHIRT

What’s the point of stopping at the tie? Wear a polo shirt, half-button placket, or even a quarter-zip top beneath your blazer to take the formality down a notch. All of them have a collar of some sort, but the style is instantly more relaxed and comfy.

The item of clothing you choose to put beneath your suit jacket has a significant influence on the overall look. Wearing a blue suit with a clean white poplin shirt or a stand-collar half-zip polo might be the difference between closing a deal in the boardroom and being photographed by a street style photographer.

1 OR 2 SHIRT BUTTONS MUST BE UNBUTTONED

Unbutton one or two of your shirt’s buttons. Even if you’re wearing a formal shirt, this gives you a more relaxed and dressed-down image. Simply unbutton one button if you’re not sure if this is suited for your event.

Unbuttoning two buttons, on the other hand, creates a more bold and informal look. You can do this if you’re bold or fashion-forward.

WITH AN OPEN COLLAR, KEEP IT SIMPLE

When a necktie is wrapped around your neck for 40 hours between Monday and Friday, it might feel like a noose. Who doesn’t enjoy letting go of the chokehold and letting their collar hang freely? So why not take use of it all of the time, rather than just after a tough day at work?

It’s long been a look associated with big-city bankers sipping wine in pricey bars, but you don’t have to be the one who drove the economy to its knees to pull it off.

DON’T WEAR A COLLAR

If you don’t want to wear a tie, choose a shirt that doesn’t allow you to do so. When you wish to wear a suit without a tie, a collarless shirt is ideal.

So now you know, gentlemen, that wearing a suit without a tie isn’t such a horrible idea. Wearing a suit without a tie isn’t as risky as it may appear. The stylistic recommendations provided above will assist you in doing this. All you have to do now is be self-assured and own it! This adds to the appeal of your style…
